Emma Hayes refused to discuss rumours linking Chelsea with a move for Arsenal's Katie McCabe, insisting there will be no more incomings or outgoings from the Blues in January.

Chelsea have made one signing this transfer window - the addition of Maika Hamano from INAC Kobe Leonessa. The 18-year-old has been sent out on loan to Hammarby for the remainder of the campaign.

Bethany England has also departed the club permanently, joining Tottenham, while Aniek Nouwen and Charlotte Wardlaw have been sent out on loan.

The Telegraph and Sky Sports have both reported that Chelsea have had a 'substantial' bid for McCabe turned down by WSL title rivals Arsenal.

When quizzed on the reports, Hayes repeated what she had said in Friday's pre-match press conference, insisting that the Blues' January business was complete.

"No," Hayes replied, when asked if she was expecting any more comings or goings during the January window. "I've said all along. There will be no players coming in and I won't be changing that perspective. This was always maintained that it would be a quiet window for us."

When asked specifically about McCabe, Hayes replied: "I don't discuss rumours. I don't talk about other players. I've told you there'll be no players coming in."

Hayes was speaking after her side progressed to the FA Cup fifth round with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool at Kingsmeadow. Sam Kerr netted a hat-trick and, despite a second half fightback from the Reds, Chelsea got the defence of their title off to a winning start.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall was similarly forthright in his emphatic response to questions about a possible transfer, telling journalists after his side had thrashed Leeds 9-0 in the competition that there is there is 'absolutely no chance' of McCabe leaving.

"I didn’t speak to Katie about that," he said. "Me and Katie have never spoken about her leaving. We only speak about what we can create here at Arsenal. There is absolutely no chance of that move happening."

The Republic of Ireland captain joined the Gunners in 2015 and has been increasingly important in recent seasons, operating as both a left-back and a flying winger.
