Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall does not believe that Emma Hayes’ impending departure will make Chelsea any hungrier to win the Women’s Super League (WSL) this season.

Hayes is leaving Chelsea in the summer after 11 years to take charge of the USA women’s national team.

She has enjoyed a glittering career with the Blues, guiding them to six WSL titles, five FA Cups and two League Cups.

Chelsea are currently top of the table after eight games this season and travel to the Emirates Stadium to face their nearest rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

But asked on Friday what impact Hayes’ departure could have on the title race, Eidevall said: “Nothing.

“It is still two teams that want to win and even if something else is going to happen in the summer, it’s the future.

“We can do very little about that. I have no idea what is going to happen in the summer, for the world in general. We have to be here and now, our focus is on Sunday.

“I think they (Chelsea) have been highly motivated before that and we are highly motivated as well, so I don’t think you can add anymore.”
