Club América defender Emilio Lara has been earning praise recently following his impressive performances in the first team.
Lara is a youth product from Las Águilas and Raúl Herrera, América’s youth system director, has been voicing high praise for the 20-year-old.

“Emilio Lara is the best central defender I have ever trained. He will be world-class,” said Herrera.
“I have never seen a central defender so fast and powerful in both his marking and aerial game. He is going to play for the biggest European clubs, I have no doubt.
“His mentality, physical condition and work rate means that he doesn’t allow himself to make mistakes.”
Despite his good form and the high praise, Lara faces an uphill battle to earn a place in Gerardo Martino’s World Cup squad for Qatar 2022.
