‘Nothing should stand in the way’ of Emiliano Buendía’s loan move from Aston Villa to Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky Germany. The Argentine has already passed a medical with the Bundesliga champions and now all that is missing is an official confirmation.
Leverkusen also have an option to buy on Buendía, who has scored ten goals and created nine in 96 games for Aston Villa. Although 20 games across all competitions for Unai Emery’s side this season, the 28-year-old hasn’t started any of his 12 appearances in the Premier League, playing just 89 minutes.
Buendía’s arrival at the BayArena could be the first of third before Friday’s deadline with Xabi Alonso’s side also working on signing AS Roma defender Mario Hermoso on loan for the remainder of the season, although this deal doesn’t include an option to buy.
In the event that Victor Boniface also leaves for Al-Nassr, Bayer Leverkusen will likely strengthen their attack, with Brighton’s Evan Ferguson an option for loan.
