After his early beginnings at Annebergs IF, just a few kilometres from the city of Göteborg, he became part of the IFK Göteborg youth sector in the summer of 2012. He made his first-team debut in 2018 before quickly becoming an important member of the squad. He signed for Sønderjyske in January 2021, after which he joined Spezia Calcio seven months later. He was subsequently loaned back to the same Danish side for another campaign.

After returning to Liguria, the following season saw him score once in 20 appearances. During the 2023/24 season, he played for Atalanta, for whom he scored once and provided one assist in 22 appearances. He also won the Europa League with the team from Bergamo.

At international level, he represented Sweden at U19 (seven appearances) and U21 (two goals in six matches) level before receiving his first senior call-up in November 2022. To date, he’s scored once in eight appearances for his country.

A player with excellent positional sense, Holm is known to be an excellent tackler and strong in aerial duels. His defensive ability is only enhanced by his fantastic understanding of the game. When attacking, he excels at crosses from the right flank and dribbling, not to mention his ball control and precise passing.

Holm is the prototype of a modern full-back, someone who is capable of contributing in both defence and attack. His technical, physical and tactical attributes make him a complete and versatile player.

As of June 2024, he is a Rossoblù player.
