Italy will lock horns with Hungary at the Puskas Arena on Monday night as they look to secure a good result on their travels in the UEFA Nations League. The Italian national team managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over England in their last European outing which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this exciting match in Hungary.

Roberto Mancini will set his team up in a 3-5-2 formation and is expected to make one change to his starting XI for this game. Emerson Palmieri could get a chance to impress from the start while Federico Dimarco drops to the bench for this Nations League clash.

Defence

Gianluigi Donnarumma will function in between the sticks for the Italian national team after keeping a clean sheet versus the Three Lions recently. Mancini could name a back three of Rafael Tolói, Leonardo Bonucci and Francesco Acerbi for this game. The centre-back trio would have to work hard collectively in stopping the home team from creating too many chances on the counter.

Luiz Felipe will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-half positions.

Midfield

Bryan Cristante, Jorginho and Nicola Barella will anchor the midfield for Italy as they try to establish their superiority over the Hungarians at the centre of the park. Both Cristante and Barella would have to carry most of the creative burden for the visitors on Monday.

Emerson Palmieri and Giovanni Di Lorenzo will operate as the wing-backs for Mancini’s side. They will both be instructed to provide some natural width out on the wide areas.

Tommaso Pobega will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca will lead the charge for the Italian outfit in the final third. Both Italian strikers would be eager to get their names on the scoresheet when they lace up to face off against the Hungarian defenders on Monday night.

Raspadori is enjoying a good run of form at the moment after scoring the only goal of the game versus Gareth Southgate’s England recently.

Manolo Gabbiadini will be named on the bench but might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if Italy are in need of a goal by then.
