Leicester City defender Caleb Okoli is linked with an AC Milan transfer, so soon after being given a shot in the first-team by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

When Ruud van Nistelrooy was handed the Leicester City job, there were significant changes expected to be made. Indeed, the Dutch manager and Premier League legend wasn't there to make friends, as he made some difficult decisions early into his tenure.

For the first few games, this worked. Leicester City picked up some good results during Ruud van Nistelrooy's high-flying start at the King Power Stadium.

However, now that more time has elapsed, there are question marks about whether he was the right appointment. RvN encourages such discourse for the health of the club but if he's human, he'll feel some semblance of pressure.

Unsurprisingly, the Leicester City boss has made some changes in recent weeks. One of those changes is to introduce Caleb Okoli back to the starting lineup and the Foxes have looked all the better for it.

According to a report from Italian outlet TV Play, AC Milan has shown an interest in bringing Caleb Okoli to Milan. The Italian defender has been on their radar since he played for Atalanta at the beginning of his career.

Okoli is still young and in recent weeks, has emerged as one of the best defenders in the bottom half of the Premier League. Considering it is in AC Milan's best interest to keep the best Italian players in the country, it's no surprise they are already planning to sign him.

If Leicester City goes down this season, which is likely at this stage, their case to bring Okoli back to Italy would become easier. After all, playing in Serie A is much more appealing than the English second flight.

Okoli penned a five-year deal with the Foxes last summer. However, this could go out the window if the Foxes are relegated. Like many of the current squad, he is one of those players signed with the Premier League in mind, not the Championship.

Nevertheless, there is one positive for the Foxes to consider. Sure, they'd rather not lose their best players but at least Okoli would present a nice financial return for the club.

I mean, that would be much more of a positive if the club knew what they were doing with finances. Yet, we'll take these small wins where we can at the moment.
