Emanuel Aguilera will now defend the colours of the defending Liga MX champions after joining Atlas on an undisclosed fee this week.
In an interview with TUDN, Aguilera gave his first statement after confirming his departure from América.

“I had planned to continue in América but then I had to talk to the board and they told me they wanted a reinforcement in defence,” he said, adding his move happened “very fast.”
“They have every right to want to find another player profile.
“When the Atlas option arose, I did not hesitate because they are the champion and they will be a competitive team.”
Aguilera has already featured in training and could potentially make his debut against the Eagles next Saturday.
