Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has revealed his dream of becoming a coach in the English Premier League after his playing career, citing Liverpool’s star winger Mohamed Salah as a source of inspiration.
Speaking at the 12th Sharjah Ramadan Majlis event, Elneny discussed his future goals, stating, “I dream of becoming a coach in the Premier League. Being a coach is more difficult than being a player.”
The Egyptian international sees coaching as the next step after his playing days are over.
Elneny also praised his fellow countryman and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, calling him an Egyptian and Arab legend.
He emphasised that Salah’s achievements in the Premier League are a source of pride for all Arabs.
“Lionel Messi is my favorite player. Salah is an Egyptian and Arab legend and all are proud of his achievements in the Premier League,” Elneny said.
He also added, randomly, “I hope that Manchester City will win the UEFA Champions League title this season.”
During his seven-year tenure with Arsenal, Elneny has made 155 appearances, scoring six goals and assisting 10 times.
The 30-year-old extending his stay with the Gunners until 2024.
will eventually become a coach at Arsenal, although it’s unclear whether he envisions a head coach role.
