Sport Bild and Sport1 reports that Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Ellyes Skhiri has a release clause in his contract at the club having joined in the summer on a free transfer.
The clause in the Tunisian’s contract is said to be worth €20m, however, it does not mean that Skhiri will leave Frankfurt any time soon as he wants to achieve his goals at the club having signed a contract at the club until 2027 after only joining on a free transfer from 1.FC Köln in the summer.
Since his move from Köln, Skhiri has been ever-present in Frankfurt’s squad. The 28-year-old has played every minute in all four of Frankfurt’s Bundesliga games as they sit ninth and unbeaten. Skhiri is continuing where he left off with Köln last season where he ended the campaign as the Bundesliga player to cover the most distance.
Frankfurt are set to open their Europa Conference League campaign this evening in a home game against Scottish side Aberdeen.
