Ellen White has surpassed Kelly Smith at the top of the list of England’s all-time leading goalscorers.
Smith netted 46 goals for the Lionesses before retiring in 2015, and White has now beaten her tally with two early goals in a World Cup qualifier against Latvia on Tuesday night.
It took the Manchester City striker 101 appearances to reach 47 goals and she made it 48 when she completed her hat-trick in the second half of the Lionesses’ rout.
