Tom Barclay believes that Raphinha is good enough to make the step up and play for either Liverpool or Manchester United.

How has Raphinha performed at Leeds?

The Brazilian was relatively unknown when he joined Leeds from Rennes last summer, but he has quickly established himself as one of the top wingers in the Premier League with some brilliant displays for the Yorkshire giants.

In 35 league appearances, Raphinha has been directly involved in an impressive 17 goals – scoring eight times and adding nine assists.

Two of those goals came this season, including the opener in the recent draw with Newcastle, although his performances haven't been able to help Leeds get their first victory of the campaign.

Raphinha has made himself renowned for the spectacular, too, with his thumping goals against  Everton and West Brom just two examples of his quality from last season.

With that in mind, Barclay reckons that the winger's quality could see him play for one of the top-six clubs.

What did Barclay say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Leeds, I don't expect to see them where they are for the rest of the season, because they've got better players than that.

"But, at the moment they are, and they've still got the likes of Raphinha, who definitely feels like he could play for a Liverpool or Man United."

Is Raphinha good enough for either?

Raphinha, who earns £63.5k p/w, is not yet hitting the goalscoring numbers of the likes of Sadio Mane of Mohamed Salah, but he's already made great strides in his first 12 months in English football.

Did Luke Ayling score on his Premier League debut for Leeds United?

Yes No

But playing in a Leeds team that score far less than Liverpool and Manchester United, he would fancy himself to improve on those numbers by playing with better players.

Raphinha was linked with both North West sides this summer, but United especially, looked elsewhere and signed both Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Liverpool could do with freshening up their front-three sooner rather than later, which means another impressive season could see the Leeds man become of interest once again.
