Numerous members of Manchester United Women’s team were on international duty last night in the Nations League.
Elisabeth Terland and Celin Bizet made a dramatic contribution to Norway’s 2-1 win over Switzerland.
Both players came on as substitutes in the 73rd minute and combined wonderfully just two minutes later to give their country the lead.
Bizet broke onto a ball played forward and managed to steer the ball away from the onrushing Swiss keeper. She found her club teammate Terland who shifted her body well and poked in a first time finish into an empty net.
The 23 year old was given a score of 7.6 on Sofascore for her contribution and she also completed two out of her three dribble attempts. She also made 100% of her passes on the night.
Bizet contributed an assist in her 17 minutes of action and also completed one out of her three dribble attempts. She had 15 touches of the ball but only completed 60% of her passes.
Dominique Janssen played the entire 90 minutes for the Netherlands in their 2-1 away win against Scotland.
The Dutch international was playing in the unfamiliar role of left back but managed her assignment quite well.
She made five clearances and also won one tackle. The 30 year old also had 98 touches of the ball and completed an impressive 87% of her passes.
It was not such a positive night for the Republic of Ireland’s Aoife Mannion whose side fell to a disappointing 4-0 loss to Slovenia.
The 29 year old failed to make any clearances in the match and could only manage one interception and one tackle as the Irish defence could not live with the Slovenian attack.
She also lost her only aerial duel and was unsuccessful in four out of her five ground battles. Mannion lost the ball 21 times in an all-round poor performance from the experienced defender.
