Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick can credit Anthony Elanga with his decision to let several players leave in the January transfer window.

United have loaned out Anthony Martial and Amad Diallo, while one of Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek could depart in the final days of the window.

ESPN reports that the emergence of Elanga convinced Rangnick that he did not need as many attackers for the rest of the season.

Rangnick does have Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, and star forward Cristiano Ronaldo as attacking options as well.

Paul Pogba is also close to full fitness, while Bruno Fernandes is usually the first name on the team sheet.
