El Clasico: Gavi was floored by two Real Madrid players and angered Benzema | OneFootball

Gavi was unable to make his mark as Real Madrid defeated Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday afternoon.

Real and Barca were level on points going into the La Liga match at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It was Los Blancos who emerged victorious as they won 3-1.

Ferran Torres' goal in the 83rd minute made things interesting, but Rodrygo's stoppage-time penalty ensured it was Real who would come away with all three points.

Gavi pushed around by Real Madrid players

Gavi is just 18 but he has already emerged into one of Barcelona's most important players.

He started the game on the bench and entered the fray with 30 minutes remaining as he replaced Sergio Busquets.

Gavi is only slight but tried to throw his weight around after coming on. Unfortunately for him, he found himself being pushed around by Real Madrid players.

He was floored just seconds after coming on by Ferland Mendy.

Gavi was desperately trying to stop the ball going out for a corner but was made to eat grass by Mendy, who sent him flying.

Karim Benzema took offence and pushed Gavi around after he felled Aurelien Tchouameni.

While Vinicius Jr also floored Gavi off the ball.

A Barcelona free-kick and was blocked and Real Madrid hit their opponents on the counter-attack.

As Real broke, Vinicius bumped into Gavi and sent him to the ground.

Poor Gavi was only on the pitch for 30 minutes but Real's players took it in turns to push him around.

Barcelona's defeat at the home of their fierce rivals was their first of the La Liga campaign.

They have accumulated 22 points from their opening nine games and are positioned in second, three points behind Los Blancos.

Barca will be hoping to get the better of Real when they welcome them to Camp Nou on March 19.
