According to Fabrizio Romano, Eintracht Frankfurt have made their first official offer to Rennes for Arnaud Kalimuendo (21). The Bundesliga club’s first bid for the PSG academy graduate is a loan until the end of the season which would then see them be forced to sign the Frenchman permanently with a mandatory purchase clause.
The mandatory purchase would be worth a total €23m with loan fees and bonuses included, according to Fabrizio Romano. Frankfurt are keen to recruit a striker in the January transfer window to replace Randal Kolo Muani. The German club also showed an interest in signing Hugo Ekitiké from PSG in the summer window but found their efforts rebuffed by the former Reims man.
Kalimuendo would like to leave Rennes in the January transfer window and join Frankfurt, Romano reports. The France U21 international is also one of several players that Rennes have made available for sale in the winter window. Now, it is down to the two clubs to agree on a suitable deal.
