Rumors that the Norwegian's academe club of FK Bødo/Glimt had pulled a purchase clause in his loan arrangement have apparently proven false in the case of attacker Jens Petter Hauge. The 25-year-old was returned to his parent club of Eintracht Frankfurt on New Year's day. Hauge remains under contract with the SGE through the end of next season. He has scored two Bundesliga goals in 36 German top flight appearances.

Whether or not Hauge will be given another chance in Dino Toppmöller's team remains to be seen. The 11-times-capped international did win the Europa League with the RheinMain Adler before Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team decided he needed to be loaned out in order to refine his game. Hauge's struggles in Belgium rendered him persona-non-grata at his parent club.

In a statement released on New Year's Day, Eintracht confirmed Hauge's return and promised a decision in "the coming weeks". Success in Norway has enabled Hauge to increase his estimated market worth from €2.5 million to €4.5 million over the last 11 months. He picked up five assists in 17 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions during the first half of the 2023/24 campaign.
