London City Lionesses have announced the news that eight players have left the club upon the expiry of their contracts.

The Pride released news of their summer departures via a post on their official club website this evening.

It has been confirmed that Lily Agg, Harley Bennett, Charlotte Fleming, Carly Girasoli, Katie Kitching, Anna Pedersen, Amy Rodgers and Lucy Shepherd have all left Princes Park following the expiry of their deals with London City Lionesses.

Midfielder Agg and defender Bennett are the two longest-serving players of those moving on. The pair have been with The Pride from the club’s infancy. Midfielder Rodgers was an ever-present for London City Lionesses in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season while Girasoli, Kitching and Shepherd were regulars in the squad. Goalkeeper Pedersen and midfielder Fleming are currently sidelined with long-term injuries.

In addition to the player departures, there will also be a number of changes off the field this summer. Interim head coach Nikita Runnacles, first team performance analyst Sophie Bone, head of performance Lizzie Fluke and physical preparation coach Kevin de Keijzer have all left the club.

London City Lionesses recently appointed Nicola Williams as first team assistant coach while the club will bring in a new head coach in due course.
