Swansea City won at home against Huddersfield Town with a slender 1-0 margin in the EFL Championship matchday 9 on Saturday.

The home side started the match in a 3-4-3 formation with Jamie Paterson, Joel Pirie and Jules Oliver upfront.
Average positions show Swansea played with a high defensive line almost near the centre with other players pushing forward in the opposition half.
Huddersfield took the field in a 3-4-2-1 formation with Frazier Campbell leading the charge.
The visitors played with a relatively low defence line with the wing-backs and one holding mid in their own half.
Swansea took only eight shots in total compared to Huddersfield’ five. Huddersfield failed to have a single shot on target while Swansea had six of them on target. The visitors failed to score any goal from a low xG of 0.20 while the Swans scored one from an xG of 0.86.
Joel Mohammad had the most shots in the match (3) with the highest xG of 0.51. Ryan Manning had the most final third passes(13).
Swansea had most of their shots inside the box, scoring from there as well. A few shots were attempted from distance but off-target.
Huddersfield had two shots inside the box and three outside the box, but none of them were on target.
Swansea started the game on the front foot and scored within the first 20 minutes and kept on dominating the whole first half. Huddersfield tried to take control late in the match but the Swans were clinical enough to hold onto their one-goal lead.
The home team had 55% of the ball. Matt Grimes attempted the most passes(65) and receiving the most in return as well(49).
The visitors had 45% of ball possession with Levi Colwill playing the most passes(68) and also receiving the most(47).
The Swans played the majority of their passes on the left side of midfield near the centre, attempting four smart passes, all unsuccessful. They delivered most of their crosses from the right with Jake Bidwell putting in the most(4)
Huddersfield played most passes in the defensive third and near the left midfield. They attempted six smart passes, two of them being successful. They put a few crosses mostly from the left. Harry Toffolo played the most(5).

Huddersfield did not have many xT creation zones in the field except near the right flank. Tom Lees was the best passer with 90.57% accuracy.
Harry Toffolo was the most threatening passer with 0.26 xT. Lewis O’Brien had the most xT from dribbles(0.056)
Swansea lost the majority of their defensive duels. Flynn Downes won the most with five while Ben Cabango lost on five occasions.
They were no better in aerial duels with Jake Bidwell being the only player to not lose any. He won four duels.
Swansea were comparatively better in 50-50 ball recoveries. Ben Cabango won all of his duels.
Huddersfield were mediocre in terms of defensive duels. Colwill won three duels while Duane Holmes lost all six of his duels.
Levi Colwill was again the best performer in the team. He was impressive in the air as well winning all seven of his duels.
Huddersfield lost most of the loose balls in the attacking third with David Sinani losing five and Fraizer Campbell losing four duels.
Huddersfield put up a very strong performance after conceding at the beginning, also defending pretty well throughout the match. They were not very creative and clinical in the attacking third and that cost them three points. Swansea were able to hold on to their one-goal lead and will be content with getting all three points at home.
