Swansea City started in a 3-4-3 formation with a front three Jamie Paterson, Joel Piroe and Korey Smith.

Swansea City made three changes in the second half. West Brom started in a 5-4-1 formation with Callum Robinson leading the attack.

West Brom maintained the same formation throughout the game and made three changes in the second half.

Despite the loss, West Brom had a higher xG than Swansea City as they had more shots on target. Swansea dominated possession of the ball throughout the game and completed almost double the number of passes than West Brom.

Joel Piroe had the highest xG of any other player on the pitch with his two shots on goal. Jamie Paterson attempted the most number of dribbles for Swansea and attempted three shots on goal.

Swansea attempted nine shots on goal and had three shots on target. They had an xG of 0.10 per shot.

West Brom attempted 10 shots on goal and had six shots on target. They had a high shot on target percentage and also had two headed attempts on goal.

West Brom had a higher xG than Swansea since the first half as they scored a goal in the first minute itself. The xT timeline indicates that both teams created a threat for the opposition defence in both halves.

Kyle Naughton attempted the most number of passes for Swansea and also received the ball most times from his teammates.

West Brom completed only 247 passes in the whole game and misplaced most of their passes.

Swansea City completed more passes on the right flank and also attempted three smart passes from the same side. Matt Grimes attempted three smart passes for Swansea.

West Brom completed more passes in the central part on the left flank. Jake Livermore attempted three smart passes into the final third and also attempted two crosses.

Swansea had higher xT creation zones on the right flank. Jamie Paterson had the highest xT from the 40 passes he attempted. Swansea played more attacking football in the second half as they searched for a goal. Jamie Paterson had an overall high xT from his passes as well as dribbles but failed to make the right pass at times.

West Brom created more chances from the right flank and their right-back had the highest xT from his passes.

Most of the West Brom players failed to make the right move when they were in threatening positions. Matt Phillips was able to pose a threat on the opposition defence with his dribbles but could not find the right pass.

Kyle Naughton won the most number of duels for Swansea as he won five out of the eight duels he attempted.

The Swansea defenders won most of the aerial duels they attempted.

Swansea won 40% of the loose ball duels they attempted and recovered possession of the ball.

West Brom managed to win the duels they attempted but were not able to recover possession of the ball after the duel.

West Brom attempted more aerial duels in the final third of the pitch. Kyle Bartley won all five of the aerial duels he attempted. Ajayi attempted a total of six 50-50 duels and managed to win four of them.

Swansea move to 15th with two wins from two matches and will look to keep the momentum going. West Brom on the other hand slipped down to third as Fulham won against Cardiff to go second.
