Reading started in a 4-3-3 formation with a front three of Ovie Ejaria, Puscas and Andy Yiadom.

Reading used only two of their three changes in the second half.

Nottingham Forest started in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lewis Grabban leading the attack for them.

Forest were forced to make a change in the first half due to an injury. They made their other two changes in the second half.

Reading had a higher xG than their opposition as they had more shots on target. Reading also dominated possession of the ball in the game. Reading had a lower PPDA and were able to recover the ball sooner.

Lewis Grabban had a total of three shots on target and had the highest xG of 0.62. Reading attempted more crosses than Forest and created more chances from the wider areas of the pitch.

Reading attempted a total of 11 shots on goal with six shots on target. They had a shot on target percentage 54.55%.

Forest attempted a total of 12 shots but had only four shots on target. Most of their shots were from positions outside the penalty area.

Both teams created their fair share of chances and were able to create a threat on the opposition defence. They also had a similar xG throughout the game.

Scott Dann completed the most number of passes for Reading as he attempted 55 passes and only failed to complete 10 passes.

Scott McKenna attempted the most number of passes for Forest and made most passes to Worrall.

Reading completed most passes towards the right flank in the central area of the pitch. They also attempted a great deal of crosses into the penalty area.

Forest attempted most of their passes in the defensive third and only attempted two smart passes in the whole game.

Reading had more xT creation zones on the right flank and Andy Yiadom had the highest xT from the 46 passes he attempted.

John Swift failed to create a threat on the opposition defence with his passes as well as defence for most parts of the game but provided an assist for their equaliser.

Forest had a few xT creation zones in the final third on the right flank. Most of their players failed to create a threat from the passes they attempted.

Lewis Grabban had a high xT from the dribbles he attempted but failed to make the right move when he got into threatening positions.

Thomas Holmes won the most number of defensive duels and did not lose a single duel.

Andy Carroll won three out of the four aerial duels he attempted and was a constant threat in the air.

Reading won most of the defensive duels they attempted and only lost 13 50-50 challenges.

Forest players lost most of the defensive duels they attempted. Jack Colback won five out of the 18 defensive duels he attempted.

Forest won 14 out of the 24 aerial duels they competed for. They won almost 100% of the duels they attempted in the defensive third.

Joe Worrall won the most number of loose ball duels as he won four of the six duels he attempted.

Reading ended a run of back-to-back home defeats with this draw and are now 20th in the Championship table. Forest are now unbeaten in their last four games and are in 13th position in the table.
