Bournemouth started in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Dominic Solanke leading the attack for them.

Bournemouth made three changes in the last 20 minutes of the game as they replaced their attackers.

Huddersfield started in a 3-4-3 formation with a front three of Sorba Thomas, Fraizer Campbell and Joshua Koroma.

Huddersfield made three changes in the second half as they searched for a goal.

Bournemouth attempted three times the number of shots Huddersfield attempted and also had a very high xG. They dominated possession of the ball throughout the game. Bournemouth had a PPDA of 9.7 which indicates they were able to win back the ball from Huddersfield frequently.

Dominic Solanke scored two goals which is why he had the highest xG of any other player on the pitch. Bournemouth had a high pass success rate and also made a high number of passes into the final third.

Bournemouth attempted 12 shots on goal with five of these shots on target. They had a high shot on target percentage and managed to attempt seven shots from inside the penalty area.

Huddersfield only attempted four shots on goal and had one shot on target. They failed to put the Bournemouth goalkeeper to work.

The xT timeline indicates Bournemouth had better chances throughout the game, although Huddersfield were able to create a threat on the Bournemouth defence in the last 15 minutes.

Bournemouth were able to keep possession of the ball comfortably. Jordan Zemura attempted the most number of passes for the Cherries. Zemura was linking well with Jaidon Anthony as he made 27 passes to the young winger.

Matty Pearson attempted the most number of passes for Huddersfield and completed most passes to Ollier Turton.

Bournemouth made most passes on the left flank as Jordan Zemura saw more of the ball. He attempted three crosses into the penalty area and also attempted two smart passes.

Huddersfield completed more passes on the right flank. They attempted five smart passes and Lewis O’Brien attempted the most smart passes.

Bournemouth had a high number of xT creation zones on both flanks but created a much higher threat when they attacked from the left flank. Lloyd Kelly had the highest expected threat from the 81 passes he attempted. Most of the Bournemouth players had a high xT from their passes throughout the game. Jaidon Anthony impressed yet again for the Cherries as he had an overall high xT from his passes and dribbles.

Huddersfield created most of the attacks from the left flank as they had high xT creation zones on the same flank. Danel Sinani had a great impact after he came on in the 57th minute as he had the highest xT from his passes.

Lewis O’Brien did manage to create a high threat from the passes he attempted, but there were times when he failed to make the right pass when he was in threatening positions.

Jack Stacey attempted eight defensive duels and only won two duels. Bournemouth won most of the duels they attempted while defending in their own half. Lloyd Kelly was rock solid at the back as he won all four of the aerial duels he attempted.

Bournemouth had a high success rate in winning loose ball duels as they won most of the 50-50 challenges they attempted and recovered possession of the ball. Huddersfield did manage to win most of the duels they attempted but failed to recover possession of the ball. Huddersfield attempted a total of 26 aerial duels and won 42% of these duels.

Matty Pearson did not lose a single duel from the six loose ball duels that he attempted.

Bournemouth have now extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 14 and are six points clear from second-placed West Brom.
