The English Football League (EFL) has announced a record-breaking international television rights deals for its competitions, which is poised to boost its global presence.

These new agreements, signed in partnership with Pitch International and Relevent Sports, will showcase EFL matches to a wider audience across the globe until the end of the 2027/28 season.

The EFL will be represented by two separate agencies for the first time, with Pitch International retaining the rights for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the rest of the world, continuing their 15-year partnership with the competition.

The groundbreaking agreement also sees sports and media rights agency Relevent Sports become the distribution partner for North, Central and South America.

They will work with the EFL to build the profile of member clubs across the region through a dedicated marketing collaboration.

These deals deliver a double win for the EFL and its member clubs. Not only do they represent the highest guaranteed international rights fees ever received by the clubs, but they also pave the way for increased global exposure.

The new deal will see Pitch International distribute a substantial package of EFL content, including 155 exclusive Championship matches, 38 League One and Two matches, and all play-off games.

They will also distribute the League Cup fixtures, three Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches and a comprehensive package of rights for betting platforms.

Relevent Sports will focus on the Americas, having acquired the rights to sell all EFL fixtures, including the play-offs, League Cup matches, three Bristol Street Motors trophy games, and exclusive betting rights within the United States market.

The EFL’s new deals follow the Premier League’s landmark £6.7 billion agreement with Sky Sports and TNT Sports for UK television rights, announced three months ago.

The four-year deal with trusted partners, starting in the 2025/26 season, aims to ensure financial stability and significantly increase the number of televised live matches.
