West Brom host Birmingham City on Friday evening, in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

The Baggies, who made an unbeaten start to the season by avoiding defeat in their opening 10 games, fell to a narrow 1-0 loss at Stoke City just before the international break.

The Blues have been unable to back up an excellent start to the season in the past month and have picked up a mere point from 15 available.

West Brom are yet to taste defeat at The Hawthorns this season, but they are yet to be properly tested on home soil.

Have West Brom had a higher or lower average attendance compared to these 23 sides this season?

The Blues, who have not scored in their last four games, have been marginally better away from home, accumulating seven points from their 12 on their travels, and scoring seven of their 10 goals away from St Andrew’s.

Issuing his score prediction on his Sky Sports column, David Prutton has gone with a 1-1 draw.

The verdict

With West Brom not firing as they did at the start of the season, the logic is certainly there for a 1-1 draw.

However, The Blues have been poor in recent weeks, and whilst the international break has given them a chance to recuperate, it is a tough ask to take a point off West Brom.

The Baggies have been inconsistent in parts this season, but they have so much attacking talent that a West Brom win, by a couple of goals, is more of a reflection of recent events.

Birmingham still have the squad and the manager to turn things around, but that will be difficult to do against such strong opposition.
