There will be some familiar faces on show for fans of the EFL, so we've outlined which players are going and what to expect from them to help you bet on Euro 2024...

Andreas Weimann - Austria

Bristol City/West Brom

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Austrian forward Andreas Weimann will be looking to put himself in the shop window at Euro 2024 – having left Bristol City after six years at the club and with his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion now over.

2023/24 wasn't his finest season, returning a combined three goals and three assists across 34 appearances for both City and the Baggies, but the 32-year-old has proven himself as both a goalscorer and a creator in the Championship, with more than 100 goal contributions to his name in the second tier.

Whether he can bring that to the international stage remains to be seen but Austria manager Ralf Ragnick clearly loves his engine, which is one of his biggest strengths, and looks set to use him as a bench option in Germany.

Thomas Kaminski - Belgium

Luton Town

Luton Town are back in the Championship having been relegated from the Premier League last season. Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski was kept busy in the top flight, making 145 saves at a 63% success rate across 38 top-flight appearances (FotMob).

The 31-year-old is set to be Rob Edwards' No. 1 next term and may well get an opportunity in Germany as Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois is missing due to injury – with Nottingham Forest’s Mats Sels and Wolfsburg's Koen Casteels his competition.

Giorgi Chakvetadze - Georgia

Watford

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Euro 2024 will be Georgia's first major tournament in their history and Watford midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze is part of Willy Sagnol's squad.

The 24-year-old joined the Hornets on loan last summer before signing permanently at the end of the winter window and enjoyed a quietly impressive debut season at Vicarage Road – creating more chances per 90 than 98.6 per cent of Championship midfielders even if he only finished with one goal and four assists (FotMob).

Chakvetadze was a mainstay in the side during Georgia's run to the Euros via the play-offs and looks set to play plenty of minutes in Germany.

Callum Styles - Hungary

Barnsley

Callum Styles' loan spell at Sunderland did not go as planned, seeing him play just 808 minutes of football and contribute only one assist in the second half of 2023/24, but the energetic utility player is still part of Hungary's Euro 2024 squad.

Styles is a player that Marco Rossi clearly rates highly, mostly being used as an option in the centre of the park and could earn himself a move away from parent club Barnsley with a strong showing at this summer's tournament.

Tommy Conway - Scotland

Bristol City

Injuries to Lyndon Dykes and Ben Doak saw Tommy Conway called up from the U21s to the senior Scotland and the Bristol City marksman has taken his chance by securing a place in Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad.

A product of the Robins academy, the 21-year-old striker broke through at Ashton Gate last season and has hit double figures in both of the past two campaigns – bagging 24 goals in 81 games at a rate of a goal every 195 minutes (Transfermarkt).

Conway will be battling it out with Southampton's Che Adams and Hearts' Lawrence Shankland for a starting spot.

Angus Gunn - Scotland

Norwich City

Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn has established himself as Scotland's number one since changing allegiance from England and, barring disaster, will take the gloves at Euro 2024.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a strong season with the Canaries as he helped them reach the play-offs. Gunn kept 11 clean sheets and prevented 4.55 goals in the Championship (FotMob) – stats that put him among the top tier of keepers in the division.

Grant Hanley - Scotland

Norwich City

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Grant Hanley was arguably Scotland's best player at Euro 2020 and will hope he gets the chance to impress again in Germany – though he might find his route blocked by the competition at centre-back.

The 32-year-old was a Norwich City regular when fit but missed the first half of the season recovering from a serious Achilles injury and then a chunk later due to another issue.

Kenny McLean - Scotland

Norwich City

Norwich City's 'Mr. Reliable' barely missed a kick in 2023/24 – producing strong displays in central midfield and at centre-back as he beat the likes of Gabriel Sara and Jon Rowe to the player of the season award.

Whether that will be enough to force his way into Clarke's starting XI remains to be seen but the Scottish boss knows exactly what he'll get from the trusted 32-year-old – a calm head with a good range of passing and a big engine.

Ross McCrorie - Scotland

Bristol City

Just like his Bristol City teammate, injuries have opened the door for Ross McCrorie.

The absence of Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson left Scotland short of options on the right side of defence and McCrorie got the nod on the back of a strong finish to his debut season at Ashton Gate, as well as the reputation he'd built from a number of impressive campaigns at Aberdeen.

Illness wiped out the first half of the 2023/24 but he's been a regular fixture in Liam Manning's side since January. His 1.68 successful dribbles, 2.21 touches in the opposition box, 0.99 shots, 8.38 duels won, and 3.35 aerial duels won per 90 (FotMob) speak to a player that's an asset at both ends.

Ryan Porteous - Scotland

Watford

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Ryan Porteous was a mainstay in the Scottish backline as they stormed to Euro 2024 qualification and will hope to feature regularly in Germany.

It hasn't always been plain sailing for him at Watford but he's looked back to his best under Tom Cleverley – showing that he's a reliable, athletic centre-back that can be a real weapon in the opposition box.

Porteous bagged three goals and three assists this term, and will be looking to add to his solo international strike at this summer's tournament.

Zeki Amdouni - Switzerland

Burnley

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Zeki Amdouni showed promising signs in his debut season at Burnley and it would be no surprise to see him take the Championship by storm next season.

The Clarets might face a tough task holding onto him if he stars for Switzerland at Euro 2024.

The 23-year-old has got an outstanding record in a Swiss shirt, scoring seven goals and adding an assist in 14 games, and it would be no surprise to see him add to that over the next month or so.

Abdülkadir Ömür - Turkey

Hull City

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

January arrival Abdülkadir Ömür has been a regular in the Turkey squad throughout the 2023/24 campaign and looks likely to be a bench option at Euro 2024.

The 23-year-old will be high on confidence after an impressive start to life at Hull City, who he joined in January. Ömür has mostly featured on the right flank for the Tigers – providing two assists in his 16 appearances while finishing the season with expected goals and expected assists per 90 stats that put him among the best at his position in the Championship (FotMob).

Okay Yokuşlu - Turkey

West Brom

Article image:EFL players at Euro 2024

Okay Yokuşlu will go from Ömür's direct competition, with West Bromwich Albion beating Hull City to a play-off place, to compatriots and teammates at Euro 2024.

The 30-year-old looked like a coup when the Baggies signed him on a free contract in July 2022 and so he has proven. Yokuşlu has barely missed a game under Carlos Corberan while his passing and defensive duel stats (FotMob) highlight just what an important figure he is in the centre of the park.
