It’s taken a while but Sheffield United have finally hit their stride under Slavisa Jokanović.

After five games the Blades were sitting in the Championship relegation places, having failed to win a single game and having scored just one goal.

All that changed on Saturday.

Peterborough arrived at Bramall Lane with a slightly better early season record than United and were totally bamboozled in front of the raucous south Yorkshire crowd.

Iliman Ndiaye got the scoring underway after only 14 minutes, finishing smartly on his debut for the club before John Fleck and Ben Osborn took the game away from the Posh after half time.

And it was a Morgan Gibbs-White pile-driver on 68 minutes that capped a brilliant all-round performance and proved that talk of United’s demise is somewhat premature.

Honourable mentions

Bolton have endured a pretty torrid time over the past few seasons, having gone from perennial Premier League overachievers to League One basement-dwellers in the space of a decade.

But, under boss Ian Evatt, the Lancashire side have found a new lease of life and are currently playing some of the best football in the third tier.

This past weekend saw Bolton go to Ipswich and put five past the Tractor Boys in a superb away performance.
