Sky Sports EFL expert David Prutton has predicted that Millwall‘s wait for a first away win of the season is set to go on ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Championship.

The two sides had differing fortunes ahead of the international break, with Blackburn defeat 2-0 by Luton and the Lions claiming a momentum-boosting 2-1 victory over Blackpool, but Gary Rowett’s team have struggled on the road this season.

Millwall have picked up just one point from four attempts away from The Den – a 2-2 draw with Swansea City in South Wales – but will know that record has to change if they’re to harbour serious hopes of a top six finish.

Their hosts have been inconsistent under Jon Dahl Tomasson but have shown that they’re a threat to anyone when they’re on song.

Both of the games between the pair ended as a draw last season and, for Sky Sports, Prutton has predicted that the points will be split once again this weekend – forecasting a 1-1 scoreline at Ewood Park.

The Verdict

This is a tough one to call and it’s pretty hard to argue with Prutton’s prediction.

Millwall will be desperate to sort out their away form as they’ve been one of the best sides in the Championship on home turf.

They might get their chance to claim a first win on the road if Blackburn aren’t at the races, which has been the case at times this term.

But equally, it would not be a surprise to see them fly of out the blocks after the international break.

A 1-1 draw is a result that neither side would take ahead of kick-off but one that would certainly be better for the Lions than their hosts.
