EFL Cup action continued on Wednesday night with six fixtures taking place.
Hereâs the lowdown on what happened âŚ
A young Leeds side crashed out of the EFL Cup after losing to Hull on penalties (1-1 FT) at Elland Road.
Mallik Wilks put the Tigers ahead after just five minutes, with his deflected shot from flying past a wrong footed Kiko Casilla.
But deep into injury time, Ezgjan Alioski offered Leeds hope after smashing into the roof of the net from close range.
Hull then won the penalty shootout 9-8 with Jamie Shackleton missing the defining penalty for the hosts.
Everton progressed into the next around after beating fourth division Salford City 3-0 at Goodison Park.
It took Michael Keane just eight minutes to open the scoring after heading home a Gylfi Sigurdsson cross.
The Toffees continued pushed for a second but saw Moise Kean hit the bar, as well as Bernard flash just wide.
Sigurdsson eventually doubled their lead before Kean secured victory on a comfortable night.
Southampton endured their second defeat in as many games after Brentford beat them 2-0 at St Maryâs Stadium.
Danny Ings hit the woodwork early on, but it was the visitors who went ahead thanks to a clever header from Christian Norgaard.
Josh Dasilva then doubled their lead just before half time, curling a shot beyond Alex McCarthy after some clever play from Shandon Baptiste.
Despite naming a strong side, the Saints never looked like scoring and Brentford progress into the next round.
