Hull City beat managerless and bottom-of-the-table Cardiff City 4-1, whilst Tom Cleverley’s Watford defeated second-placed Sunderland 2-1.

Elsewhere, Leeds United rose to fourth position with a 3-0 victory against Coventry City and Blackburn continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 home win against 10-player Queens Park Rangers.
