On Tuesday, América were forced to rally from a 2-1 half-time deficit against Pachuca and produced one of their best halves of football all season, winning the match 5-2.
Now that they’ve secured their place in the Copa MX quarter-finals, where they will face Chivas in the first of two Super Clásicos in a matter of days.
After training, Edson Álvarez told reporters that they are only taking the season one match at a time and are focused on Monarcas.
“Being all focused we can achieve wonderful things, we saw it against Pachuca.
“We feel good for the match against Morelia, we know that it won’t be easy and they are smaller rivals but we will win and keep adding points.”
