Today marked an important day for Edoardo Bove following his recent cardiac arrest on the pitch during Fiorentina-Inter.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder has completed the implantation of a subcutaneous defibrillator at the Hemodynamics department of the Careggi hospital in Florence, where he has been hospitalized since December 1st.
The operation took place this morning at 8 am and was successful.
The player should return home between Thursday and Saturday, while the evaluations of the tests carried out in the hospital will continue.
The implanted device will be kept for at least a couple of months, a period during which it will be decided whether to remove it, replace it with a definitive version or adopt solutions similar to those of Christian Eriksen in 2021.
However, one certainty seems to emerge: Bove will not be able to resume competitive activity in Serie A, where the regulations provide stringent limits for athletes with implanted defibrillators.
The possibility of continuing his career abroad remains open, where less restrictive rules could allow him to return to the field.
