Edinson Cavani’s agent and half-brother, Walter Fernando Guglielmone, has revealed that Brazilian sides Flamengo, Internacional, and Palmeiras have all inquired about bringing in the PSG striker this summer.
As Cavani did not renew with the French giants, the Uruguayan striker, who has also been linked to Boca Juniors, will be available on a free after his contract expires in June.
When asked if a potential return to Napoli was on the cards, Guglielmone told Tuttosport: “To be honest, anything can happen, as there are many clubs interested in Edinson.
“So far, there is no contact with the Azzurri (Napoli). We received calls from South America… Flamengo, Palmeiras, International, and Boca Juniors.”
However, Palmeiras and Internacional have denied having made contact with the striker. Flamengo made contact when Gabigol’s future with the club was still up in the air, so talks did not evolve.
The 33-year-old’s salary is estimated to be around €10m annually, meaning Cavani would have to take an enormous pay cut in order to play in South America.
