Edinson Cavani became a free agent in the last July when his contract with PSG eventually expired.

Having spent the majority of the 2019-20 season on the sideline through various injuries and unprecedented health issues, Cavani saw his no.9 spot getting captured by the club’s new signing Mauro Icardi.

For PSG, Cavani registered 200 goals from 301 matches, becoming the highest goalscorer in the club’s history.

He surmounted Zlatan Ibrahimovic to achieve that feat.

Manchester United have drawn against the teams like PSG, RB Leipzig, and ?stanbul Ba?ak?ehir for the upcoming group stages matches in the UEFA Champions League 2020-21 campaign.

And Cavani could get a chance to play against PSG on this occasion and prove his critics surrounding the French club wrong with some eye-catching performances.

He could showcase that Les Parisiens were wrong to let him leave.

According to a report from The Times, one of Cavani’s motivation for joining Manchester United was United’s upcoming ties against PSG in the UCL.

The story further claims that the Uruguayan striker is believed to be unhappy about the way his time at the French club ended and wants to showcase everyone he hasn’t passed his best yet.

He was believingly so determined to come and play football for Manchester United that he even went on to ask Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to play him against Tottenham Hotspur.

Anthony Martial saw a controversial straight red card, and United got battered by Spurs 6-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

We could have been something different on the night had Cavani been there as United’s centre forward.
