Edinson Cavani and Harry Maguire were both absent from the Manchester United squad that travelled to Paris on Monday ahead of the Champions League fixture against PSG.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Cavani, Maguire and Mason Greenwood were not seen with the rest of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad at Manchester airport.

Cavani trained with his new teammates for the first time on Sunday after finishing his self-isolating period, and the game against his former club may have come too soon for the veteran Uruguayan striker.

Maguire started and scored to vindicate his controversial selection against Newcastle on Saturday so his absence from the squad is unclear.

Axel Tuanzebe, who hasn’t played for the first-team since December, is back in the squad and is perhaps being used as cover for the United captain.

Greenwood was not involved at all against Newcastle and we are still unaware of the extent of his injury setback.

Meanwhile, new signings Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri both travelled with the rest of the squad to the French capital.

Solskjaer’s men will be hoping to build on their impressive performance at St James’ Park by repeating their heroics of March 2019 in the Parc de Princes.

United’s squad that flew to Paris, as per the MEN: David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Facundo Pellistri, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo
