Eden Hazard has paid tribute to Joe Cole following his retirement, revealing how he convinced him to join Chelsea six years ago.
Cole – who made 281 appearances for Chelsea between 2003 and 2010 – hung up his boots on Tuesday after 20 years in football.

Hazard was one of Europe’s hottest properties after his breakthrough season at Lille, and it was then teammate Cole who convinced him to join the Blues.
“I spoke to him before I signed for Chelsea. Every day, seriously, he was telling me that Chelsea was the best club for me,” he revealed on Twitter.
“He said Chelsea were a big club where you can win trophies every season. For that reason I signed, so thank you, Joe Cole!”
The Belgian has proven an incredible investment for the club, winning their Player of the Season award in four of his eight seasons in west London.
