There’s no getting away from the fact that Eden Hazard‘s mega-money move to Real Madrid has been an unmitigated disaster.

The Belgian superstar joined the club of his dreams from Chelsea in the summer of 2019 for a nine-figure sum and has struggled to find any consistency.

Injuries have plagued Hazard in Madrid, which has resulted in him playing just 3,318 minutes across the last three seasons.

The 31-year-old is currently condemned to the treatment table after undergoing surgery on his right fibula.

However, that didn’t stop him from getting involved in Real Madrid’s celebrations after their incredible Champions League semi-final comeback against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Hazard was at the Santiago Bernabeu to watch his teammates create yet another historic moment in Europe’s top-tier competition and he then entered the pitch after the full-time whistle had been blown.

And it seems the winger is a very popular guy in the Los Blancos dressing room, judging by footage of his involvement in the celebrations.

You just love to see it. Things have been anything but easy for Hazard in the Spanish capital, but he’s not let that drag him down and dampen his spirits one bit.

The ex-Chelsea man was also heavily involved in the jubilant scenes off the pitch and he even brought his kids along to enjoy the moment.

Hazard will sadly play no part in the Champions League final against Liverpool due to his current injury and his future at the Bernabeu remains uncertain.

If Kylian Mbappe arrives in the summer on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, game time will virtually be impossible to come by for him in 2022/23.

It’s probably best for Hazard and Real Madrid to part ways at the end of the season, but while the goals and assists haven’t been there, he may at least leave with a Champions League winner medal draped around his neck.
