Newcastle United could lose one of their longest serving players at the moment in the final moments of the winter transfer window.
The Magpies have been quiet in the transfer window this time, just like they were in the summer transfer window.
They have faced financial issues and they have been cautious because of that in terms of spending money.
However, they could lose right-back Kieran Trippier in this window with the former England international getting little playing time at St James’ Park this season.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Galatasaray are exploring a move for Newcastle United right-back Kieran Trippier.
The defender has made just 14 appearances in the Premier League this season and even though the player is personal favourite of the Magpies manager, he has not been preferred to start this season.
While there has been interest from Galatasaray, there has been no bid made yet for the defender, as reported by Jacobs.
He wrote on his X account:
“Galatasaray intent on exploring a move for Kieran Trippier even though Eddie Howe wants him to stay.
“No bid yet but Galatasaray prepared to pay close to €5m.
“Will revisit in summer if Newcastle’s position doesn’t change.”

Howe is reluctant to let Trippier leave the club in this transfer window since he is the only back up option of first choice right-back Tino Livramento.
Trippier came on as a substitute in the second half of the match against Fulham at St James’ Park and Howe is not looking forward to lose Trippier’s experience in the squad.
Newcastle are fighting for a place in the top four of the Premier League but their hopes suffered a hit after they were beaten by Marco Silva’s Fulham side at St James’ Park on Saturday.
