Karl Darlow is set to sign for Hull City following Newcastle United’s League Cup semi-final on Tuesday, according to Mark Douglas.
The shot-stopper is likely to play a role in the matchday squad for the midweek second leg tie with Southampton.
But that will signal the temporary end of his time with the Magpies, with a switch to the Tigers expected before Tuesday night’s 11pm deadline.
Darlow has fallen down the pecking order at Newcastle and now finds himself behind the likes of Nick Pope and Loris Karius.
The goalkeeper is set to sign as part of a six-month loan deal to make the move to the MKM Stadium, with the two clubs having agreed on a transfer, with Eddie Howe indicating the move will be completed on Tuesday evening.
Darlow has plenty of Premier League experience having been a regular presence in the Newcastle side over the last handful of years.

Liam Rosenior will be hoping he can aid the team’s promotion battle with Saturday’s 3-0 win over QPR moving the team to within five points of the play-off places.
Hull are 15th in the Championship, with Darlow set to become the team’s third signing of the window after Malcolm Ebiowei and Aaron Connolly.
The Verdict
This situation is leaving it tight with Darlow given the game will finish right before the window closes.
But with everything already agreed, it should be a relatively straightforward process of getting registered with the EFL.
Darlow is a very promising signing for Hull with the shot-stopper having performed well in the top flight in recent years.
It has been a positive window for the Tigers and completing this move will cap off an impressive set of additions to Rosenior’s side for this month.
