United heading to West London and a 3pm kick-off against Brentford.

Eddie Howe and the players hoping to build on that excellent performance against Liverpool.

Eddie Howe Brentford press conference on Friday:

“The players will have felt the high of that Liverpool game.

“Our challenge this weekend is to hit the same levels that we did on Wednesday.

“Our job is to regroup, refuel and go again.

“Whenever you go away from home the intention that you set in the game and how you start the game is key.

“The early exchanges give you a lot of clues to how the game is going to go.

“We need to find a way to win, this is a massive one for us. I am very positive about what we can deliver.

“It is a tough assignment at Brentford, they have been in good form.”

Eddie Howe on the Wor Flags ‘Get Into Them’ pre-match display v Liverpool:

“That’s always our intention.

“On Wednesday we did that, especially into midfield.

“That, ‘get into them’ psyche is where we want to be – we want to be a progressive team, we don’t want another team enjoying playing against us.”

Eddie Howe on Fabian Schär’s attacking contributions:

“Fabian has got those midfield qualities at centre-back, he has that creative eye.

“That is so important in our build-up phase.

“He used the ball well against Liverpool.

“His goal is rounding everything up, how he scored from that angle, great goal.

“He has that technical ability to adapt and he’s scored some good goals for us.”

Eddie Howe on Sven Botman’s progress:

“He is doing well, the initial moments in training were passive but now he is fully training.

“He is looking good in the 11 v 11s, he is still a few weeks off from playing competitively but he is looking good.

“It has been a big boost to have him training, he is a big guy and a big presence and we missed him.”
