Ecuador take on Senegal at the World Cup 2022. Here we have absolutely everything you need to know about the fixture.
Another day, another batch of World Cup fixtures, with the first of the day being Ecuador versus Senegal. How these fixtures play out will ultimately decide who advances and who sadly crashes out of the World Cup in Qatar.
This game is absolutely massive as it surely means whoever comes out on top will advance, so both sides will be simply desperate to obtain a result. It is possible for both to head through if a draw occurred, but the Netherlands would have to take a beating from Qatar – which is highly unlikely.
So with so much on the line, you aren’t going to want to miss this one! Here’s everything you need to know about it.
The two sides will face each other on Tuesday 29th November 2022. For those in the UK, the time this Group A match will kick off is at 3 PM GMT.
The match between at the 2022 World Cup will be available in the UK on Freeview TV. The TV channel the match will be on is ITV Four.
The match will be available to live stream for residents in the UK on ITV X but you will need a TV licence to be able to log in and watch the game. Signing up for ITV X is free and will only take you a minute or two.
The lineups are in! Here is how the two face off.
Ecuador XI: Hernan Galindez, Felix Torres, Piero Hincapie, Pervis Estupinan, Michael Estrada, Angelo Preciado, Carlos Gruezo, Gonzalo Plata, Moises Caicedo, Alan Franco, Enner Valencia
Senegal XI: Edouard Mendy, Youssouf Sabaly, Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdou Diallo, Ismail Jakobs, Pathe Ciss, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye, Iliman Ndiaye, Ismaila Sarr, Boulaye Dia
Ecuador will be without midfielder Jhegson Mendez after two yellow cards in consecutive games means he has to serve a one-game ban. They also may be without star man Enner Valencia up top after he came off against the Netherlands with a knee problem. That’ll be a huge loss for them.
As for Senegal, they will be without midfield powerhouse Cheikhou Kouyate as he picked up an ankle injury, along with Fode Ballo of AC Milan who also has a knock.
Ecuador are the favourite for this match.
This one is really tight to call, with both teams seemingly evenly matched. With this being the case, we’ll go for a draw.
