Arsenal have completed the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
The England international joins the Gunners after a deal worth worth £60million upfront, plus £7.5m in add-ons was struck between the two clubs earlier in the week.
Eze, unveiled before the Leeds clash, has signed a four-year contract, with the option of a further year, and could make his debut as soon next weekend when the Gunners face Liverpool at Anfield in a meeting between last season's top two in the Premier League.
Eze is the latest arrival at the Emirates Stadium this summer in what has been an extremely busy window as Arsenal aim to end their five-year wait for a major trophy this season.
Mikel Arteta has bolstered his squad with the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres. Now the Spaniard has added a creative spark to the ranks.
In signing Eze, Arsenal have also beaten rivals Tottenham to the player’s signature.
The move represents a homecoming for the 27-year-old as he was on Arsenal's books as a youngster and has previously said he grew up a supporter of the club.
On the deal, Arteta said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game.
“What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.
"His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to start working with Eberechi soon.”
