The Chivas team could have their first new face for the 2022 Clausura tournament as Oswaldo Alanís will not be in the plans of the San Jose Earthquakes plans moving forward.

In a statement made on social media, San Jose informed Alanís that he will not be returning despite making 24 starts for the club this season.

“The defender Oswaldo Alanís completed his two years on loan with San Jose and will return to Chivas del Guadalajara. The club will not exercise the contract options for 2022 for seven players (including Alanís).”

Meanwhile, Javier ‘Chofis’ López will see his loan last another six months after winning the San Jose Earthquakes Player of the Year award.

Chofis, whose future was up in the air, scored 12 goals and added three assists in 31 games this season.
