As reported by Mohamed Toubache-TER, early tensions exist between OGC Nice manager Christophe Galtier and Sporting Director Julien Fournier, with the Ligue 1 title-winning coach feeling he is not being listened to about the club needing to sign more experienced players.

Sources tell Get French Football News that Fournier’s intervention in L’Équipe last week did very little to improve the mood, where he tried to explain that the club was not dependent on Mino Raiola for deals, despite the agent representing Calvin Stengs and Justin Kluivert, both who have joined this summer from AS Roma and AZ Alkmaar respectively, as well as having current OGC Nice players Walter Benitez and Khephren Thuram on his books, but also representing PSV midfielder Pablo Rosario, who Les Aiglons are also trying to sign:

“When we are interested in players coming from the Netherlands, Mino often has the best. We identify them and we naturally bump into him. But most often it is us who go to him, rather than him offering us players. For Calvin (Stengs) our recruitment team had been following him for 3 seasons… But I do not want for us to fall into shortcuts with Mino. Nice works with a lot of agents. I also have contact with Jorge Mendes. It is more and more the big agencies, and those who head up the big agencies, who make the market. So there is no bulls*** at Nice, Mino does not have a monopoly.”

Galtier and Fournier enjoy a strong personal relationship, but their professional one is not off to the best start.
