Manchester City embark on matchday two of their UEFA Champions League adventure in the league phase of the competition on Tuesday night.

Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava are Pep Guardiola and his players’ opponents in European competition, with both sides hoping to get their first win of this season’s tournament on the board following their respective opening results.

Manchester City were held to a 0-0 draw by Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium, despite good opportunities for both sides to break the deadlock, particularly falling to Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden in the final 15 minutes.

As for Vladimir Weiss’ Bratislava squad, they were made to experience the harsh realities of top-level European football, having been dismantled by Scottish Premier League champions Celtic in a 5-1 drubbing in Glasgow.

Manchester City know that they will already be without four key names due to injury problems, as all of Nathan Ake (muscular), Rodri (ACL & meniscus), Kevin De Bruyne (groin), and Oscar Bobb (leg bone fracture) miss out.

Ahead of the confirmed team news from Tehelné pole this week, some initial information has began to filter throughout social media from journalists and sources regarding Manchester City’s starting line-up.

According to the information of The Athletic’s Sam Lee on social media platform X, Manchester City will have a midfield combination of Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, and Matheus Nunes.

Vladimír Weiss and Pep Guardiola are expected to confirmed their respective SK Slovan Bratislava and Manchester City starting line-ups around 18:45 (UK) on Tuesday night.
