Erling Haaland is among the substitutes for Manchester City against Brentford on Sunday afternoon, with four names also absent from the travelling squad, as per sources in the run-up to kick-off.

Manchester City are back in action for the final time in the Premier League this season, as yet another title-winning campaign comes to a close for Pep Guardiola’s five-time English top-flight champions.

Pep Guardiola and his players travel to Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon, in the final game without a competitive edge before an Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester United and a Champions League final in Istanbul against Inter.

The trip to west London will be the final warm-up contest for Pep Guardiola, as he rests and rotates his squad with a view towards the hugely important double-header across the next two weeks.

Ahead of the official release of the starting line-ups this afternoon, sources have began to report on Manchester City’s team news, with four names absent from the travelling party that made the short flight to London on Saturday night.

According to Twitter user FPL Raptor, all of Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, and Kevin De Bruyne have not travelled with the Manchester City squad, while C345Sam on Twitter states that people close to Grealish have stated he is being ‘rested’.

A flurry of confirmed starters and non-starters have also been confirmed by the ever-reliable Fantasy Premier League expert LetsTalk_FPL, who reports that Erling Haaland does not start for Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

As such, the same source also confirms that Julian Alvarez, Riyad Mahrez, and Phil Foden all start for Pep Guardiola – presumably making up Manchester City’s front-three in London this afternoon.

Ederson starts in goal ahead of Stefan Ortega Moreno, according to LetsTalk_FPL.

Thomas Frank and Pep Guardiola are expected to confirm their respective starting line-ups at 15:30 BST.

Now confirmed.
