If you were hoping for drama on the final day of the Bundesliga season, it took just 12 minutes for us to get some.
Relegation battling Stuttgart took on Europa League-chasing Köln at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and the hosts were awarded an early penalty.
Sasa Kalajdzic stepped up but his well-struck spot-kick was saved brilliantly by Köln goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe.
However, from the resulting corner, Kalajdzic did find the net with a powerful header to give Stuttgart hope of climbing out of the relegation play-off spot.
Their hope lasted just a few minutes, however, because over in Dortmund, Stuttgart’s fellow relegation-battlers Hertha BSC were awarded a penalty of their own when Ishak Belfodil was brought down by Dan-Axel Zagadou.
After a VAR review, Belfoldil stepped up to score a goal which means Hertha currently stay 15th, while Stuttgart occupy the relegation play-off spot.
The European race is looking interesting too, with two early goals for Union Berlin against Bochum putting them above Freiburg in 5th and leaving them in a strong position to seal Europa League qualification.
But that could all change in the coming hours.
