Dyche encouraged by Burnley in Spurs defeat | OneFootball

Sean Dyche was encouraged by Burnley's performance despite losing to Tottenham on Monday night.

The Clarets were unfortunate not to take anything away from the game as Heung min-Son scored late with Spurs' only shot on target.

His side remain winless from six games so far this season, but Dyche has seen enough to remain positive.

"Tonight yet again we fall foul to a set piece," he said at Turf Moor. "A lot of our performance was right about what we do especially against a quality side.

"I thought the shape was good and the belief in the shape. We stopped their tempo a bit really and I thought we mixed the game up well in attack. A lot of what we try and achieve, especially against the better sides, was on show.

"I think the players know the last couple of weeks we have managed to get players who needed fitness work fitter. I think we were fit and strong tonight. There has to be a show of performance level that you can win games and we know if we play like that over a season we will get points on the board."
