Dutch football is concerned for Erik ten Hag over his problems at Manchester United.

Former Ajax coach Ten Hag has lost his first two games in charge of United against Brighton and Brentford.

Local pundit Hugo Borst wrote for De Telegraaf: "Poor Erik ten Hag. Or should you say: stupid Erik ten Hag? Because after Alex Ferguson, all the trainers at Manchester United, including top trainers, died.

"The American owners, the Glazers, are holding that club hostage from a distance. Under those circumstances you can never perform. Ten Hag should have known that.

"He, crown prince of the international trainers' guild after impressive years at Ajax, also had plenty of other options last spring. A safe choice for Germany in particular was obvious. But he was overconfident or stubborn - or both.
