Juventus won their second match on the spin. Dusan Vlahovic sealed the deal against Genoa and won it with a header at Marassi to take home all three points.

The Start

Juventus started strongly, maintaining good possession and immediately looking to spread the play with Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz. In the 5th minute, Joao Mario cut inside and struck a powerful right-footed shot, but it hit Khephren Thuram full tilt who remained on the ground and required treatment before play could continue.

Genoa responded in the 15th minute with a free kick from Nicolae Stanciu, but it went over the bar. A few minutes later, Mikael Ellertsson tried to surprise Michele Di Gregorio with a dangerous left-footed shot, however the Bianconeri goalkeeper made a comfortable save.

Juve Grew Stronger

After half an hour, the Bianconeri stepped up a gear. Khephren Thuram broke away and delivered a great ball to Pierre Kalulu, who was beaten to it by Lucas Vazquez. A high press led to a ball being won back in the box by Conceicao, who unfortunately misfired. Shortly after, Yildiz tried to burst forward but was stopped by Miakel Ellertsson in a questionable challenge.

The end of the first half was all Juventus. In the 41st minute, Yildiz set up Federico Gatti, who headed towards the goal with Nicola Leali making a miraculous save. Two minutes later, Yildiz again caused panic on the wing and sent a ball into the middle. Nicola Leali made a quick stop and the ball ended up with Jonathan David, and from a decent position, was unable to find the finishing touch.

The second half kicked off with Genoa on the front foot. In the 49th minute, Mikael Ellertsson beat Gleison Bremer and shot, but Joao Mario blocked it off the line and went for a corner. Juventus responded with Khephren Thuram broke away at speed and tried his luck, but failed to hit the target. Shortly after, Conceicao created something on the right, but the Genoa defence cleared.

In the 60th minute, Genoa came close to taking the lead. Mikael Ellertsson crossed for Nicolae Stanciu, whose shot on goal was blocked by Kalulu. Lorenozo Colombo picked up the rebound but came to nothing for the hosts.

Vlahovic Scores

In the 73rd minute, after a series of substitutions, the game-changing moment arrived. Filip Kostic sent in a perfect cross from the corner flag to the near post, where Dusan Vlahovic beat everyone to the ball and headed past Nicola Leali to make it 0-1. It was the Serbian's second in two matches. Genoa tried to react, but Juventus were solid in defence. Gleison Bremer led the line and Gatti made several vital challenges.

Genoa's pressure materialized in two sensational chances in stoppage time. Calen Ekuban had the ball to equalize in the 96th minute, but Di Gregorio excelled himself with a stunning save. Shortly after, Patrizio Masini hit the post with a header, with the Bianconeri goalkeeper ready for the rebound.

We return from Genoa and go into the first international break with another three precious points on the board.

The first match back after the break will be the Derby d'Italia.
