Dusan Tadić has confirmed he rejected approaches from other clubs after Ajax impressed in the Champions League in 2018/19.
The Serbian shone as the Dutch giants went all the way through to the semi-finals and it’s no surprise to hear there was interest in him.
It wasn’t, though, anything that tempted him to move.
“I immediately felt a good connection with the club,” the 31-year-old told Life After Football.
Tadić joined Ajax from Southampton in 2018 and has enjoyed two outstanding seasons.
In the first, he scored 34 goals and provided 17 assists across 46 Eredivisie and Champions League appearances.
“I had several offers at the time (in 2019) but Ajax is in my heart,” he said.
“I love the style of of play and also the club, the fans, the people I work with and the city of Amsterdam.”
Last season was impressive again, as the Serbian scored 11 and assisted 14 in 25 Eredivisie games.
With a contract until 2023, though, he is likely to see out the remainder of his career in Amsterdam.
